Innovaa Moto G4 Case
This is a review of the Motorola Moto G4 / G4 Plus / XT1644 Case, INNOVAA Dual Armor Bumper Case W/ Free Screen Protector & Touch Screen Stylus Pen – Black
This is the nicest looking and best performing case that I’ve gotten yet for my Moto G4. This is the fourth case I’ve tried and it’s my favorite to date. I’m kind of picky about my phone cases. I try to find the best balance between protection, visual appearance, and overall functionality. I try not to put too much emphasis on the looks of the case as I’m not looking for anything flashy or pretty. As long as it’s somewhat stylish, not horribly ugly, and offers good protection I’m pretty happy. I also try to find a good balance between protection and size. I want a case that provides good protection but that I can also carry in the pockets of my slacks, shorts, or jeans. I really can’t stand wearing a phone on a belt clip and I’m not a fan of the gigantic Otterbox types cases. The phones are already getting so huge with five plus inch screens that if you add a huge case then you end up talking into something the size of a brick and carrying something bulky and heavy.
This case is making me happy so far. It looks good, feels good in the hand, and doesn’t add a ton of bulk or weight to the phone. I really like the design of the case in particular. It features a two piece system of a soft silicone inner shell that wraps around the phone and a hard plastic ring that wraps all the way around the outside edge. The ring also has small tabs on the inside that grab onto small openings on the inner layer. This gives the case a very sturdy feel and I like having the hard plastic wrap all the way around the edge of the phone. The case fits easily into my pockets which is a plus as well. The level of protection offered is above mid-range. The inner layer is a good thickness and the hard shell provides a good barrier with the silicone behind it to absorb the shock of impacts. In my opinion this case offers a level of protection that I would say is just below that of an Otterbox. This case would be well suited for a variety of environments from schools to work sites.
The case covers the volume buttons and power buttons well. There are raised button covers in the inner layer that stick out through openings on the hard layer. While using the case the button presses feel very firm and responsive. The openings in the top and bottom for the headphone jack and charging port are perfectly sized and you’ll have no issues using headphones or plugging in a charger. The openings in the back are the perfect size for the camera and microphone.
Overall, I am impressed with this case. It offers a very good level of protection without adding a lot to an already large phone. The case performed well in my drop tests from bar height counters onto wood floors and the phone received no damage. The case is also very easy to put on the phone and it’s easy to assemble the two pieces together. The look of the case is basic but nice. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a G4 / G4 Plus case. It’s a solid buy and a five star product.
I was given the opportunity to purchase this product at a discount in return for a fair, honest, and unbiased review.
